Full Time Mandatory Team Gear
- Writing utensil
- Water purification method for entire team
- Working cell phone in a water proof or zip lock baggie
- First Aid Kit
- Waterproof map case or other means to keep race materials dry
- Container capable of boiling water over heat source (can be as simple as a kitchen pot or as high tech as you want)
Full Time Mandatory Individual Gear
(Each team member must have the following at all times)
- Whistle
- Waterproof matches or waterproof lighter (in a dry bag is ok)
- Compass
- Means to carry at least 50 oz of liquid
- Knife with locking blade
- Space blanket
- Sleeping bag rated at least 35 degrees
- Trekking poles
- Sun Glasses (Ski goggles permitted)
Mandatory Individual Biking Gear
(Each team member must have the following on all biking sections)
- Mountain Bike
- Front lighting system – must be mounted on handlebars. (Riders may wear headlamps instead of front mounted lights)
- Flashing red tail light
- Bike helmet

- Sunscreen, (yes in the winter)

- Fire Starting material (commercial bought or cotton balls soaked in Vaseline works well
